Newspaper Prayers

Have the kids bring in copies of of recent city or national newspapers. Go through the pages and find articles that reference things and issues that kids can pray over. Don’t limit the kids to just things on violence or crime but consider praying for political issues, community awareness and when you see an article on something good pray that God can be glorified in some way in it and that those things would continue according to His will. You can also pray over the supermarket ads for God to provide food to the homeless in your area or for God to work in our current economic situation so the families can afford their basic necessities without resorting to crime. When you come across advertisements for ungodly things, pray that God and the city would shut down those venues or sources.

You can create a book to put cut out articles in or pin them to a wall for the kids to lay their hands on and pray over.
