As we approached the 7
Essentials Seminar this year we anticipated lower
numbers due to the economy. This did not worry us
because we knew that God would enable those who
should be there to come. Little did we know that our number would
skyrocket in the last two weeks of registration and
almost double. On November 13th 62 people arrived
from across the United States, Canada, and Africa at
the World Evangelism Center with a sense of purpose
and a readiness to learn. God indeed opened the
doors for people to come.
Thursday evening began
with focused prayer and worship. God's presence was
so strong that you couldn't help but worship.
Reverend Tom Suey the new International Coordinator
for the World Network of Prayer was able to be with
us and shared call and confirmation to the work of
kids prayer. Vicki Simoneaux, Regional Children's
Ministries in Africa, shared a message about
using what is in your hands. It doesn't
matter what it is just use it. This lead to a
time of prayer and ministering to each other.
On Friday morning
we started out the training with Essentials 1-4 and
#6. There was an intense time of focused prayer for
the people of the
10/40
Window and the people groups represented by
THUMBO.
Shelley Hunt inspired us to spend more time as
families praying and Vicki Simoneaux helps learn to
better work with kids in the altar.
We had planned for
Friday evening to be a time of training that also
involved local churches. Unfortunately due to
various district events we had only a few children
come. But it turns out that God had other plans.
During pre service prayer there was a call to go
deeper. Prayer lasted for almost an hour and
ended with a confirmation of our calling and
worship. We had a listening time and then another
time of intercession for the nations.
Saturday morning
started out with testimonies. We learned about
Essentials 5 and 7. Larissa Hunt came and shared
about how Scripture prayer has changed her prayer
life and shared some instruction for how to write
prayers using Scripture. We ended with a panel
discussion and prayer.
It was a jam packed
time with so much to absorb. Please pray for all the
people who were able to come that doors would open
for kids prayer in their local assemblies. Also pray
that they will have the opportunity to share what
they have learned with others around them in their
homes, churches, and communities. This generation
wants to be involved in ministry now. Kids prayer
can help facilitate that.
