Summons to Sacrifice
2008 was an awesome time for the 120 kids and
workers involved. Kids from all over the United
States and Finland were gathered together to hear
from God. The ballroom shook with the praise and
worship of the kids.
Thursday night’s
lesson was “Clean Hands and Heart.” We learned that
we cannot climb the mountain of God if our hands and
heart are not pure. Our relationship with
God must be right in order to receive His blessings.
We repented and cleansed our hearts so we could
receive what He had planned for us.
Friday we learned
how to hear God’s voice. God spoke to many of the
children and showed them great things. We prayed
for the 10/40 Window. This is where most of the
people in the world live but is the least
evangelized. We learned about many people groups,
what they believe and how we can effectively pray
for them. What a great time we had prayer walking
through China. One child prayed for “warring
angels to go to China.” Talk about a powerful
prayer. We had goose bumps.
A teenager spoke to
us about Invisible Children. These are the child
soldiers who are kidnapped from their homes and
forced to fight. Most of the child soldiers are in
the country of Uganda.
A young lady taught
the children how to pray using the Scripture. She
learned this at an early age and it is her burden to
pass it along to others. Imagine how powerful it
is to pray the Word of God.
Friday night the
kids went downstairs to pray for the missionaries
who were in the adult session. The crowd, estimated
at 1,000 heard children touch God for the nations.
The presence of God came in like a flood. One
young lady felt impressed to anoint a prayer cloth
for Barbara Willoughby, missionary to Singapore, who
is currently undergoing treatment for cancer. Her
body was very weak and she was not able to be in the
service. The cloth was given to her husband, who
lifted it toward heaven to receive a miracle. It
was a beautiful sight.
Saturday the kids
were shown how to pray using fun and exciting prayer
tools. Just as tools help people build things,
prayer tools help our kids build a life of prayer.
