I am
Sister Brenda Wilson, Kentucky District Prayer
Coordinator, I would like to tell you the great
things that have happened in our church with our
children praying.
I had
a benign tumor on my face close to my hairline
for years. The children at my church started asking
about the tumor. “What is on your face Sister Brenda?” I
would tell them that it was a tumor. One day a five year
old boy put his hand on the tumor while the other
children prayed with him. They prayed a simple prayer
for God to heal me. Within two weeks the tumor was
gone!
After
I had been healed my dad, who was almost 80 years old,
was on a ten foot ladder working on his roof and he fell
on a bed of rocks. It should have killed him but he had
a shattered heel and broke bones in his foot. The
orthopedic doctor said he had no idea how he would fix
my dad’s foot. I went to church the next day and called
my dad to have these same children, ages four – six,
prayed for my dad over the phone. My dad said that the
pain eased and he could feel his foot being healed. My
dad knew that God was going to answer the children’s
prayer. Six weeks later he went back to have the cast
removed and the doctor was shocked. My dad’s heel was
only 1/8 inch from being completely healed. His bones
in his feet were back where they should be. The doctor
said he didn’t know what happened but he was grateful
because he didn’t expect my dad to walk again. My dad
told him the Lord had healed him and that it was the
prayers of the children. He is now back to his old self
able to everything that he could before his accident.
And
here is one more story. The five year old boy who
prayed for my dad and I found out that his mother’s
friend was in a wreck and was hurt. When he heard this
he started for his room. His mother asked him where he
was going. He said, “If the Lord could heal Sis.
Brenda’s dad’s foot, then he knew God could heal her
friend’s leg.” When he got back to the living room his
mom ask what he had done. He told her he was praying
like, “Sister Brenda showed him how.”
I
know that children’s prayers work. I just wish that
there had been a Network of Prayer years ago. Maybe
today we would have more adults interested in prayer?
