My name is Chantal Teague. I go to New Life Center, Pastored by Bro. Garry Tracy. I go to Shekinah Kids on Wednesday nights. From going to these sessions as a teenager in High School I have learned a lot about prayer and how to pray.

Before I started going to these sessions I really didn’t know “how to pray”. Although I have grown up in the church I really didn’t have the teaching from someone of how to pray. But seeing these children pray to God and being sincere has proven to me that “if they can do it, so can I”. Prayer to me before these sessions was telling God “I love you!” or asking Him for help. Now, it is alone time with God, not just asking him for something. It is also a time to get with God and giving your time to Him and not the world.

These children just don’t pray, they pray until something happens. They PUSH until someone is healed. For instance, a guy at our church, Bro. Craig, had to have a liver transplant. Well, to make a long story short, one of the teachers in these sessions recorded all of us praying for him to be healed. He came out of the hospital and was put into isolation for 3 months, but he was out of the hospital and with his family. Now last Sunday, May 7, 2006, he was in service praising the Lord. Just this experience alone has helped me with my faith. I pray every night that something will happen in my life that will help someone else. Yes, I prayed every night before, but I didn’t pray to God until something happened.

That is how my life has changed through Shekinah Kids. Now when they worship God, I want to worship more so that I can be an example.

After the release of last month's When Children Pray video clip, I received approximately 130 responses. Out of those 130, only two said they didn't
think the praying was done by young children or that it sounded fake/scripted.
The rest of you who responded seemed to have the same sentiment as
Chantal in her second paragraph, "If they can do it, so can I." Thank
you for your response last month may your energies in the area of prayer
be renewed and refreshed as you minister to children who are truly
hungry for the power of the Holy Spirit to work through them.

Teaser: Find out next month (via "The Listing") about resources that will
help you understand the spiritual hunger of children and why their
hunger is driving a renewed sense of urgency for spiritual development. AC
