Mixing It Up

Can adults and children really pray meaningfully together? Absolutely!! April first was a special day for members at New Life Center in Bridgeton, Missouri. As over 30 adults gathered for prayer, they were treated to a time of worship, ministry and prayer together with children from their church's Saturday night kids prayer group, "Kids Prayer Force." Below are comments from some of the elders about the night and how it was truly a night of ministry to one another and before the Lord. The photos tell the story better than words.

Mary writes...
Saturday night prayer meeting with "Kids Prayer Force" was great. Our children are so precious. Dave & I were very touched. We prayed together for our own children (as we do so often) but felt such a move of God. These children have faith that can move mountains.

Bev writes...
Having the Kids Prayer Force with us last Saturday night was a real treat. I once again realized what a powerful spiritual tool we would hand our children by teaching them to pray at a young age.

Powerful for them: They would grow up not only recognizing the voice of God, but feeling comfortable with it. No matter where they go, or in what circumstances they find themselves, they can communicate with God. By leading in adult prayer, they learn how to be comfortable in leadership.

Powerful for the adults: We can see the spiritual potential in our children. We can once again realize the purity in innocent prayer.

Lonnie writes...
When I got there a couple minutes after 6:00 p.m. and saw Angie/Lynn and the Kids Prayer Force and realized what was going on, I said to myself, "Oh goody, prayer time will definitely be fun and different and the time will go by really fast!!" That's how Donna and I felt when we visited the kids prayer meeting many weeks ago. It was true last Saturday night as well.

NOT that all other prayer times are boring, slow, etc. ... but you know what I mean. I personally like a more structured approach to the hour's prayer, or at least "some" of the time. And I would not like it "Kids Prayer Force style" every week.

I have GREAT GREAT respect for this kids' prayer ministry!!! We cannot EVER let it die.

Church elders are letting us worship in a kid-friendly way in our main service and we LOVE it! (Right now we're mostly doing worship "Bangla Style" because we have a partnership with the church in Bangladesh - they're cool.)
