The postcard invitations were sent out, inviting nearly 100 community churches to bring their kids together for a Saturday School of Prayer. We waited to see who would come. Then, on that historic Saturday morning, the GLOW Stick Team arrived early for one more practice as kids from the Shekinah Kids prayer group shook off the jitters for their upcoming responsibilities during the three hour community prayer sessions.

Sixty people came, ages 4-15, including four kids prayer leaders from two area churches, and one church from out of State. Parents, grandparents, and youth came with kids to observe and some to participate. Four churches were represented when it was all said and done. It was a success and we will certainly be doing another SOP ...every six months.

Following is a general outline of our schedule and topics. You can download the prayer assignment papers below to see how we set things up. Also, you can view photos on the kids side for the month of October as soon as they're posted.

FIRST HOUR (Details in assignment sheets below)
   Praying for the World:
Worship, THUMB-O, M&M Prayers
SECOND HOUR
Praying for our country: Worship, Children at risk, Praying for LIFE*, Snack
THIRD HOUR
    Praying for our schools:
GLOW Sticks (song), Virtual Prayer Walk, Worship

*Praying for LIFE may not be suitable for small children as it deals with praying for unborn babies at risk. However, in the right atmosphere it is dynamic.
