I have noticed a very
disturbing trend in the news lately. At least once a day
you will read or hear about a child dieing, being
kidnapped, or abused. We now have a nationwide alert
system in place for missing children. Ten years ago
there was no need for this system. Even two years ago.
Now you can be driving down the highway and there are
signs to tell you about an alert. What has changed?
When there is a change in the natural world, something
has also changed in the spiritual world. As the church
has begun to focus more ministries towards children that
empower them the attacks against them (kidnapping,
physical and mental abuse, murder) has been on the rise.
Satan only attacks things/people that are in his way –
that mess up his plan.
Proverbs 24:6 says “Strategic planning is the key to
warfare; to win; you need a lot of good counsel.” (MES)
In trying to understand this scripture better I looked
up the words key and warfare. A key is a vital, crucial
element and warfare is defined as acts undertaken to
destroy or undermine the strength of another. So what is
the key that Satan has been using to undermine the
strength of the church? Children. Satan knows that
children have a command from scripture to worship God
and that the result of their obedience in worship God’s
enemies are silenced. (Psl 8:2) God gave us children for
signs and wonders (Is 8:18)? Children are the key to
this last and greatest revival and Satan knows that. His
plan is to kill them or have children go thru such
horrible things that when the church gets to them we
have to cut thru all the scars first before we can give
them the tools.
So if Satan sees children as a key what do we see them
as? The last portion of Proverbs 24:6 say’s to win you
need a lot of good consul. That is where we come in.
There are children that we see every week. How are we
teaching them to fight? The Bible tells us that “the
weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty
through God to the pulling down of strong holds” 2
Corinthians 10:4 (KVJ) Are we giving them weapons to
use? We need to teach them how to pray, seek God’s face
and hear His voice. This can no longer wait until they
are in the youth group. These children are in the fight
of their lives and if we don’t teach them how to fight
then who will?
