KIDS PRAYER
MEETING - ZIMBABWE
On February 28th, there
was an all-night kids prayer meeting in Zimbabwe, South
East Africa. Adults, young people and even children took
shifts all through the night. Missionary Vicki
Simoneaux, who has been teaching kids to pray had this
to say on the 29th of February...
"Just thought you would
all be glad to know that I actually stayed awake the
entire night during the all-night prayer last night. I
have to admit it went too fast actually. We had the most
wonderful prayer meeting!
"We had things going on thru out the night. We would do
focused prayer for 20 or 30 minutes then 'open' prayer
time, then break out sessions, etc.
"We actually had a visitor from the neighborhood (had
been invited by someone?) receive the Holy Ghost.
"During the kids
prayer session
(it was AWESOME!!!!) I had 12 kids from 8 to 12. I had
them stand in a circle and had one at a time get in the
middle. They either gave a request for prayer or gave a
'thanksgiving' for us to all rejoice over. The way those
kids prayed!!!! I know the Lord heard their prayers and
saw their faith. There were 4 kids that asked for God to
supply them with school fees so they can go to school.
One boy requested that the Lord would help him be able
to get the school uniform!
"After the focused
prayer session they made pictures of something to remind
themselves of what God was going to do for them. I
instructed them to take those pictures home and put them
up in their houses and every time they see them they are
to simply thank God for hearing their request. When
their request is answered I told them to bring the
picture back to church for us to put up on the church
bulletin board.
"I wish you could have seen the pictures some of those
kids drew and colored. The one little guy drew a picture
of himself in a brand-new uniform and sporting a huge
smile. He also told me he was going to wear his uniform
to church! I promised him that if he did I would take
his picture and give to him. Their faith was so high. I
can't wait until I can share their victory stories with
you.
"One little girl has a
speech problem. She asked for God to heal her tongue. I
had to weep! She said she wanted to be able to quote her
bible verse in front of the church so we could
understand her. You can only understand her if you
listen really close!
"One young guy said he didn't have any request but
wanted to thank God for a new toy he got that day. He
pulled a plastic pair of wings pin from Swiss Air out of
his pocket. (you know the kind that is in the kids pack
when they fly) He said a friend had given it to him that
day at school. And our kids complain and ask for so
much! My son Timo's eyes got really big when he saw how
sincere and proud his friend was!
"God is going to answer the prayers of his 'children'.
"Sorry to write such a long email but as you can tell
these kids inspire me.
God Bless,
Vicki
