| ITS
NOT HARD FOR ME AT HOME BUT AT CHURCH ITS KIND OF
EMBARRASSING BUT I DO NOT LIKE TO TELL ANYONE. What
should I do?
[Try
finding a friend or an adult who you feel
comfortable being around and ask them to be your
prayer partner at church - it may keep you from
being embarrassed to pray out loud and alone at
church.] |
| I
have to help watch my baby sister.
[Try "praying while you play" with your baby sister.
Can you make up a prayer game of your own? If so,
let us know and we'll post it on this site.] |
| I am
mad at somebody or something.
[Think
on this: "I pray that when I am angry, I will not
sin. I pray that I do not let the sun go down on my
wrath (Ephesians 4:26).] |
| You
hang out with the wrong kids and forget or worry
about tv or computer or games and fun things. That
is what I think.
[It
sounds like you speak from experience. In Romans
12:2, God's Word talks about not being conformed to
this world, but being transformed by the renewing of
our minds so we can prove what is His good and
acceptable and perfect will is. If we're distracted
by all the things you mentioned, following this
verse can be very difficult.] |
| ...I
don't know what to say when I pray.
[One of
the best ways to learn what to say when you pray is
to practice talking out loud to Jesus as if He were
sitting right next you, like a friend. Check out
what you can do if you run out of ideas (below).
Also, there is a Scripture prayer guide available
for kids that would be a big help to you - email
your name, address and a request for one to pray@wnop.org.] |
| I
run out of ideas.
[Try
praying prayers that come from Scripture, like
something from Psalms. Also, listen to others,
adults and other kids, to get new ideas. |
| I
lift my voice.
[Praying
out loud is hard for some people to do, but it gets
easier the more you practice. Don't try to pray like
an adult, pray like you talk in a normal
situation...unless you are feeling a strong
anointing or burden for intercession.] |
