Can you imagine
praying all night long? Well, that's exactly what the kids from two
churches did the last weekend of July. They came together, worshipped,
were empowered and filled by the Holy Spirit to do battle in the spirit
through the night. It was a time of intense prayer and worship...and
most of the kids stayed up for the entire eight hour prayer time. |
|
They prayed for
nations, they prayed for each other, and they prayerwalked in the church
where the event was held, pleading the blood of Jesus in classrooms and
various other places they felt led to in the church facility. Take a
look at the pictures to get an idea of some of the things they did. The
eight hours flew by, but everyone needed a nice long nap when it was
done. Whew! It was awesome, but the kids learned that prayer can also be
hard work. |

that really
got off the ground at 10:00 p.m. |
After general worship time,
GLOW ministered with
stick drama, "I AM." |
One of the GLOW
team members begins
to pray in the mic, inter-
ceding for those wanting to be filled with the Holy Spirit. |

This girl was filled with
the Holy Spirit and so was another girl, one person from each church was
filled! |
This girl came real
close to speaking in tongues...next time! |
Some of the kids
felt to pray for this man
who was wearing a cast. |

After the Holy Spirit fell,
kids sat and listened intently as a quick lesson on binding and loosing
was taught. Then they spent time binding and loosing, using handcuffs
(locking and unlocking them). There was a lot of spiritual warfare going
on! |

right in there in worship with the kids. |
See how the younger
girl is following the older
one? Kids can be leaders
even when they're young! |
You can tell there was
such a sweet spirit
among the kids - everyone
got along and new friendships were formed! |

This was one of the nicest
posters on the 10/40 Window. It really helped kids focus their prayers! |
Notice the plaid coverings
some of the kids are
using? It helped them pray without distraction as they
focused their prayer on different posters around
the room representing various major needs. |

As I walked around the room,
I could hear kids praying quietly beneath their head coverings and some
were even crying as they prayed. Since there was a choice of things to
pray for, kids were able to spend time at the places that caught their
heart - for as long as they wanted. It was great to see kids praying
from their heart with feeling. |

After kids
had written down the treasures Jesus put in them, they covered them then
beat drums (buckets) as a way of protecting them from the enemy. They
had learned that with every |

their hands, the Lord was punishing His enemies (Isaiah 30:32). |

They began quietly defending
the treasures of their church...but then even the older kids started
beating drums as they prayed and battled in the Spirit. |
The girl in the pink shirt
was one who was filled with the Holy Spirit and she prayed powerfully
that night. |
During the time of
praying for our "treasures"
this girl went and prayed
for a little boy who
was sleeping - it was so sweet! |

At mid-morning, sometime
after 3:00 a.m. we worshipped and worshipped learning various styles
from Africa and Bangladesh. There was still energy to spare...and after
that is when we went on to pray the Word/Bible, and then to plead the
blood of Jesus in various parts of the church. |

All in all,
this event was a great success. To be honest, the ability of the kids,
even with limited training in this area, was beyond our expectations. It
was the first all night prayer meeting I'd ever been to on purpose...I'd
been at all night prayer meetings before, but not because people
gathered on purpose to pray all night. For eight hours these kids stayed
focused and on task...it was a most rewarding experience for all of us!
I'd do it again...just not next week. If you want to try an all night
prayer meeting, start talking about it now - it rocks! |
These guys were like the
Energizer Bunny - they just
kept going and going... |
And of course, there were
some who needed a nap
before the morning came. |
