Easter
Prayer Time! |
On Palm Sunday
(the Sunday before Easter), kids from Madisonville, Kentucky, were given
an opportunity to begin attending a brand new prayer class. After a few
meetings, this is what happened. Older kids laid hands on younger kids
and two five-year-olds came very close to receiving the gift of the Holy
Spirit with speaking in tongues. Kids were praying "Hi-Yah!" and "YES!"
prayers throughout the room as Jesus ministered to needs. Click a
photo to see it bigger. |
This
is what the prayer mentor sent with these photos:
"The
power and presence of Christ moved in such an incredible way! This
five year old (bottom row) prayed for 35 minutes and was still in
the presence of the King as she left the room.
"It was awesome seeing our older kids pray with the younger
ones! Jesus was and is so good all the time.
"What made my spirit leap was whenever I heard them say YES! and
Hi-Yah! at the end of their repentance prayer! They think doing
that is SO AWESOME. I am expecting and experiencing a mighty revival
among our Shekinah Kids at The Pentecostals in Madisonville, KY!"

Instead of saying "amen" to end a prayer, kids were taught to say,
"Hi-Yah" and "YES!" to let Jesus know how serious they are about their
prayer. These two prayer endings even have hand motions...we'll show
them to you later. |

Prayer for the Sick |
After a need was presented, kids gathered around a "prayer cloth" to
pray. Then, it was given (mailed) to the person who needed it. Sometimes
the group is small...and |

sometimes it
can be large.
Why should kids pray over a cloth to give someone who has a need?

Tyler's Pillow Altar
------------
Making A Special
Place of Prayer |
Oops! I can't find these

Tyler, who is 12, has always had a "heart for missions," meaning he has
always
loved hearing missionary stories and praying for missionaries (one got
healed when he prayed) and even praying for unreached peoples in the
10x40 Window. But that's a story for
next month.
When Tyler was younger, he made a habit of praying at an alter he
could make at home from pillows. Above are some pictures of how he used
his "pillow altar" as a special place to talk with Jesus. I think Jesus
is giving Tyler special opportunities to work in His kingdom even though
he's still in 6th grade because Tyler made time for Him. Are you meeting
with Jesus everyday? If not, maybe you can get an idea of how to make a
special place to meet Him. You don't have to wait until you "grow up" to
be a real friend with Jesus! |
